Cremation Or Funeral: Both A Chance To Say Goodbye
Posted in fitness and health on May 20th, 2012It is not a pleasant topic of conversation, for anyone, but before it is no long a decision you can make for yourself you should decide if you want a cremation or funeral. It is a choice only you are truly qualified to make, because you know which you would prefer.
This is a very personal matter, one which will be based on the many beliefs and experiences you have had. And it could very well be that for you there is no decision needed because the choice is obvious. Even if this is the case, you should be sure to let others know this is how you feel, otherwise, it is out of your hands.
Both means provide an end, not only for yourself, but for your friends and loved one. A way to celebrate your life, while saying a last goodbye to someone, who touched their lives in one form or another. And regardless of which method you choose, those who knew you will be able to gather around one final time to pay their respects.
When you look at a funeral, you find that the casket is representative of the final resting place for the departed. For many this symbol offers comfort, allowing them to see, they are now at rest. In most circumstances they are able to see and touch the one they lost, and comfort themselves as well. And many see the closing of the lid as a way of coping with the end of the life is now holds.
A cremation on the other hand, offers something different. Whatever personal reason a person may feel towards burials, does not mean that there can not be a gathering of friends and family, to say a fond farewell to someone who will be missed. It simply means: there will be no body to lay to rest. The reason for this is because, the body has be returned to the most natural elements.
And while this may be one reason to choose this alternative, there are more. Some people can not fathom the idea of being put to rest in the ground. And so they opt to an alternative method.
Everyone has their own thoughts and beliefs on which is better, cremation or funeral, but the only ones that matter are your own. This choice, you should make for yourself. Based on how you have lived your life, by your choices, this should not be one left for others to make, since you no longer can.
